Okay, so I admit that Mark Teahen wasn’t the greatest pick up for the White Sox. Well, at least playing third base wise. I wonder in the near future, will the White Sox put Teahen at right field and move Carlos Quentin to DH.
Looks like the season is coming to a close with the Twins having a health five game lead for first place. They just know how to play consistently and execute better than the White Sox.
I wonder what’s going on with the contract negotiations with John Danks. I haven’t read anything new with that yet. Will he be back…will Edwin Jackson be back? So many questions.
Some Random Stuff:
- I don’t see Carmelo Anthony coming to the Bulls. Just a gut feeling.
- Starcraft 2 is pretty fun.
- I’m not at all grossed out from watching A Serbian Film.
I don’t mind the White Sox bringing in Manny Ramirez. He has at least proven that he can hit in both leagues. I just think it’s just a matter of whether he can still do it or not.
It was just a little over a week ago that the White Sox were in first place. Now they’ve played themselves out of it. There’s all sorts of blame to put around, but I’m not going to dissect. I just know that if a team can’t beat a last place team, then you shouldn’t be in the playoffs.
On the bright side, Chris Sale looked really good in his last few starts. John Danks didn’t sign an extension yet. Could Chris Sale be his replacement???
This coming series against the Twins is going to set the tone towards what’s going to happen during the course of the season. With the offense being lack luster again, I’m not confident the White Sox can win two of three against the Twins. Doesn’t help that the bullpen is starting to show signs of falling apart. Here’s hoping the White Sox can win at least one of the three.
Some Random Notes:
- Inception was a great movie. I read that if you stay during the ending credits, some thing happens, but I can’t confirm that as I didn’t stay towards the ending credits.
- I’m happy for Scottie Pippen on making the hall of fame as well as becoming an ambassador with the Chicago Bulls. He was my favorite player aside from Jordan.
- I can’t believe there’s a remake The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo coming out. I don’t get remakes. Wouldn’t it make sense to just play the original instead of wasting money bringing out another version that is probably going to be not as good as the original. People just have nothing better to do with their money.
Could the Orioles be rejuvenated, or did the White Sox offense catch a case of the offense runnittis again. I don’t feel at all surprised that the White Sox lost 3 of 4 to the Orioles. It’s a shame because not only has starting pitching giving the White Sox a chance to win games, but now the race for first has gotten tighter with the rival Twins coming in this week and next week. I think it’s good that the White Sox lost the series to the Orioles. You don’t want to have too much momentum and confidence going into the Twins series.
Some Random Notes:
Being jobless is depressing and uninspiring, but you know who I look to for inspiration…Terrell Owens. Terrell Owens you say? If such a problematic cancerous player such as Owens can find a job, than it gives me hope that I can find a job too. Since I’m on the subject of football, I can’t wait for the Bears season to start. Same for the Bulls!
Bobby Jenks should buy Mark Kotsay dinner today if he hasn’t. That’s ab0ut four blown saves so far? Today’s game was frustrating and nerve wrecking and we know who to thank for that. I thought the closer role was going to be up for committee? Next week’s game against the Twins is going to be so crucial.
Some Random Notes:
I feel bad for the person who owned this burnt PS3.
Gavin Floyd pitched a beauty and has been his last several outings, but more importantly, the offense spotted him much runs. Gordon Beckham continues to hit well. I’m glad he had his sophomore slump during the first half of the season rather than the second. With all those trade rumors now dead, him hitting as well as he has been lately is a huge boost down the second half stretch.
Mark Buerhle pitched a magnificent game today and the offense did a splendid job of scoring runs. Buerhle going the distance really helped keep the bullpen’s arms fresh.
I don’t know about anybody else, but watching blown saves really frustrates me. The White Sox should be 6 and 0 on this current road trip. Yes Bobby Jenks has only blowned two saves, but the real stat is how many times has Jenks come in to close a game and not give up a walk or a hit? I’m willing to bet 75% of those games he has given up at least a walk, or a hit. His ERA is way too high for a closer too.
The White Sox might want to take a look at another relief pitcher to go along with left-handed power bat. Just for the record, I would not put a trade with Gordon Beckham for Prince Fielder. Are the only options for a left-handed bat has to be from the National League? Can’t the White Sox find another suitable bat from the American League instead?
